I am a staunch leftist. In the last four years I have written dozens of articles on my blogging website to educate my Chinese-speaking readers about democracy and Trump’s threat to it. They receive thousands of reads every day.
Today, I am speaking to you with the greatest trepidation and despair, like a passenger on the sinking Titanic.
In my eyes, America has started the transition into Orbán’s authoritarian Hungary. The only difference is that Hungary is surrounded by much bigger ships of democracy, which prevent it from sinking into the abyss where the ruins of Nazi Germany lie. But when the gigantic ship of America starts sinking, no other ship can pull it back; instead, they will all be dragged down into that abyss.
Trump is not at all the person to blame. Selfish psychopaths are always abundant. The party that handed America to him is you, the Democrats.
I have listened to the speeches by Pelosi, Biden, and Harris. To me, they are nothing but inspiring, uplifting, and righteous. I often got tears in my eyes. America has been dominated by this narrative, and anyone who speaks with the slightest tinge of racist or anti-LGBTQ tone is vilified by this narrative.
The problem is, this election has shown us that the silent majority of Americans are not like us. They are less educated and informed; their view of the world is more tribal than cosmopolitan, and they have more anger and fear. They dare not speak out their true thoughts, for fear of being lambasted and vilified by the dominant “woke" narrative. They feel that they have been deprived of the freedom of speech in their own country. They are right. Why should they be vilified when they speak out, especially when they are the majority?
Although they sometimes detest how extreme and degrading Trump has become, they find vindication in Trump’s hateful, racist, and divisive narrative. To them, he is the only person, the hero and freedom fighter who dared to speak out for them. In comparison, The lofty tones of Pelosi, Biden, and Harris feel hollow and disconnected from reality to them.
Therefore, every condemnation you make of Trump’s racist, sexist, hateful remarks feels to the silent majority like a condemnation of them.
That is why, although the Democrats’s policies are better than Trump’s in every way, the silent majority still believes in Trump, because you, the lofty Democrats, have removed yourselves from the debate. They don’t relate to you and don’t trust you. To them, there is only one person talking, and that person is Trump.
You need to come down from your self-indulgent, self-righteous high moral ground, down to earth, and start to wholeheartedly empathize with the fears and anger of these people, even if they seem silly at times. You need to start to talk in a down-to-earth language that resonates with them.
If you can’t stop talking in a manner perceived by the right as “woke", you will watch helplessly as Trump and his Schutzstaffel stir up and incite the less-educated and angrier majority more and more with hatred and lies, and you will be blamed by history as the ones who handed America to the new American Nazi Party.

现在的移民不是欧洲文化背景的了。他们从哪来就带有哪的价值观。既然美国敞开吸引移民，那就要 第一知道可能会有的变化 第二准备平稳变化。民主党认为移民多，DEI是他们的天然选举优势。纯粹自以为是。我从没看出来。民主党让那么多移民来，别最后给共和党做嫁衣咯。

民主黨負有重要責任。假如2020年川普獲勝，他現在已經準備下臺了。他的內閣會比現在這個新內閣要中性得多。根本就不會有他後來對民主政治的挑戰。他的時代就將結束了。而現在，他將更深的影響美國的未來。民主黨就是因爲輸得不夠慘，纔會照老一套。更往前說，如果奧巴馬和希拉里順序交換一下，恐怕不一定出現川普。誰能預料奧巴馬不是一個時代，卻來了川普這個時代。所以啊，民主黨搞身份主義就搞到這樣。冥冥之中，總覺得有一種真正的趨勢是擋不住的。天要下雨 娘要嫁人。 這就是在說，未來怎麼樣我們同樣是無法預料的。烏克蘭問題解決，臺灣問題安靜下去是可能的。

我对明白人说的左派就是精英阶层有不同看法。美国左派过去是支持工会的。现在西欧北欧中南美洲仍然是左派的焦点。而美国的民主党实际上是左右都有的精英政党。一直以来左派都在批评他们，比如科索沃战争、全球化。但这个左派人群很小，完全被民主党覆盖了。民主党优先身份认同而避而不谈工会，主要是因为商业利益。发达的服务业高科技金融培育了庞大的受益人群。这些人呢，不需要工会 反而更好。而他们又是身份政治的受益者。如果美国今天还是以制造业为主，那这种人口构成必然会保住民主党过去的性质。所以我甚至都不认为民主党的道德有什么任何变化。
共和党就更可笑了。他们的政策从来都是富人优先的。美国沉默的大多数没有代言人。

西方的左派和中國人眼裡的左派既有少許重疊，但主要是不同。
中國人眼裡的左派是堅硬的共產主義者，右派是親西方、親資本主義者。
西方定義中的左派主張個自由平等，保護墮胎和同性戀權利，主張大政府，以推行平權，加大公共服務和福利。
而右派則偏重傳統價值觀，主張小政府，由市場規律自由經濟。
所以，你可以看出，中國人眼裡的左派和西方人眼裡的左派风马牛不相及。唯一的聯繫，是在二戰期間和之後的二十年裡，西方許多左派看好俄國的政府包辦一切促成完全平等的公有制。但七八十年代後他們明白了，俄國中國的公有制實際上恰恰是最不平等的壓迫制度，和他們希望的政府包辦平等、福利的制度南垣北輒。
懂了這一點，你就明白為什麼美國的左派和精英階層一致，因為多數西方精英階層養尊處優的結果是心情愉快，愛心充沛，對自己的優越地位內疚，希望幫助弱勢群體。我就是標準的一個。所以我們這些精英階層是左派。
而那些低教育的人則無法跟上經濟全球化的步伐，他們就好像汽車出現後的馬車夫，他們忿忿不平。共和黨準確捕捉到了大部分美國人的這種失落感，然後去代表他們。這一點錯都沒有。所以我不反對川普的政策，我反感他的謊言和人品，反對一個罪犯做偉大美國的總統。

我以前總說，兄弟，沒有人非黑即白，每個人，不論配羅西、奧巴馬、拜登、川普，都是一個連續的光譜，既有自私，也有為公。配羅西和拜登之間有沒有利益衝突？有沒有內鬥？或許有。但他們也有為了美國的利益團結一致的公心。相信陰謀論的人因為憤怒和仇恨，只看見這個光譜的窄窄的一條，認為它就是全部。

I say that not because you support someone or denounce someone. This is your democratic right. I say that because, when you are angry about a reality, you don’t have the courage to accept it and reconcile with it, instead, you resort to conspiracy theories. That is a typical mentality on which Trumpist thrive. Please don’t blend religion with politics. There is no statistics proving religions, unless you are really believing, makes you a better citizen.

I said it before, I am a follower of Jesus, Who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. You claim to be Christian and call me a brother, then allow me to ask a few questions in brotherly love:
The scripture says: “This is eternal life: that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent”. Do you know Jesus, or are like most “Christians” in the world, only know OF Him? How is your relationship with the living Christ? Does He reveal His heart and will to you? Do you desire to do His will? Is your name written in the Book of Life? Are you walking the straight and narrow path that leads to life, or are you on the wide road that leads to destruction?
My friend, being a Christian is more than just reciting a sinner’s prayer and getting baptized. You must seek and abide in Jesus, the living God. You must have His Spirit dwelling inside you, and you must seek and do His will. Lest you want to stand in front of Jesus’ judgment throne on that day and hear Him say, as He will say to many so called “Christians”: “Depart from Me! I never knew you, you worker of inequity!”?

Replacing Biden, who single handedly defeated Trump and the “red wave” of 2022, with someone who has zero electability was the gravest mistake Obama, Pelosi and their controlled media have ever made. Emperor Obama and Queen Pelosi aren’t wearing any clothes and nobody has the courage to say it.

上帝对民主党寄予厚望，现在很失望。2020年他看到川普即将连任，于是释放covid百年未有之大变局。全世界的人都得在家等待川普下台。耶和华说了，要坚持用超自然力量把川普搞下台的总方针。结果川普下台了。民主党照样继续搞它的老一套。到2024年初选，老拜登坚持参选。
耶和华急了。于是安排了夏天对川普的刺杀。其目的是让民主党借此机会换人。结果，民主党不按照选举程序，几个党内大佬匆忙推选哈里斯。
耶和华给了民主党史无前例的几次机会。这才有了上帝他要以更大的混乱来拯救大家。

回答台湾读者留言：最近二十年一直都是大众和精英阶层的对立。著名大左派桑德斯选前就警告过，说民主党应该聚焦在面包和黄油的问题上。美国精英阶层最怕的不是川普，是桑德斯。左右两边的普通人都可能涌向桑德斯。所以民主党一定不想让桑德斯初选获胜。在拉美、欧洲，左派政党都是社会经济议题。最左的共产党讲阶级斗争。“起来，全世界受苦的人们”。它是淡化种族性别这些身份的。
但美国（和英联邦）恰恰相反。民主党大谈特谈种族性别，其重要目的就是压制阶层的讨论。这也就是为什么美国的大企业也都愿意谈论种族性别。但他们不想谈论工会和集体谈判。澳洲大左派John pilger 指出过这种用种族分裂本属于同一阶层，拥有同样阶层利益的人群。

二分法：你應該記得我在以前的文章裡總是說這個世界不是非黑即白，而是一個連續的光譜。所以這個我懂。但二分法並不謬誤，一個連續的光譜可以分成波長大於XX和小於XX的二部分。在這個況且在寫文章時，有時需要簡化。

这个二分法太绝对。这不是一边tribal 一边cosmopolitan. 而是阶层不同，人性不改。阶层越高，越不受到问题的影响，越有很大的耐心和灵活度。他们只是在更高的地方，更diplomatic。 我就在白领职业圈子里。tribal instincts 一点不少。
所以，并不是白领就终极性的接受这些东西。是他们尚未受到影响。美国人对全球化的抗拒增加，一个原因就是白领硅谷这些地方的人开始发现他们有职业危机感。这时他们的反应就和早就失业的工人一样。
毫无疑问，任何社会过得好的人都是少数。如果你只制定过得好的人可以接受的政策，那你一定会失败。美国人早就想走川普的路，不是川普创造的。建制派无所作为是因为各种利益组合的僵局。这就是为什么人们支持一个体制外的人。
民主党要学会少用身份主义看问题。大部分中产川粉会认为，你把他自己放在这个位置上，他都只能这样。他能得罪硅谷华尔街吗？他能得罪拉丁裔选民吗？他能说极左派不接受的东西吗？你把小红帽放那，他也一样舌头在脸颊里。美国选民看透了这个。

先生您好！我是來自台灣 就讀於台灣大學政治學系一年級的學生 一直以來都有在拜讀您的文章 想請問您 是否能夠稱此次美國大選為一般民眾對於菁英階層的反撲呢？我發現民主黨得票地區通常是教育程度高於全國水準的地方，而民主黨所宣揚的理念似乎離大部分美國選民的實際生活脫節太大了，這似乎才是民主黨節節敗退的原因，而非川普真的有多為優秀。想請問依您的見解，美國2028之後的局勢可能有什麼樣的變動呢？望您不吝賜教！
