Trump May Claim Fraud again, but GOP Won’t Back Him

Although the midterm elections have yet to conclude, the likelihood of Democrats regaining control of both the House of Representatives and the Senate is growing.

Judging by his past behaviour, Vladimir Trump is almost certain to refuse to accept the election results, for two reasons:

  1. His ego, too enormous for the universe to contain, makes it impossible for him to admit defeat. To him, admitting defeat is more terrifying than death.
  2. As a Russian spy, accusing Democrats of election fraud would continue to serve the purpose of dividing the American people. Having already openly thrown himself into the service of his master, Putin, he would never pass up such a golden opportunity.

But this time, Republicans will not rally around him as they did the last time he refused to accept an election result, because they have finally recognised the will of the people. They are now living in constant fear. His lackeys, including Rubio, are scrambling to contact lawyers in preparation for the accountability that is coming their way. That is why they will not dare to support him.

The worst-case scenario is that, with the tacit consent of Republicans, Trump orders the Department of Justice to take measures to delay the certification of the election results. But Republicans will not, as they did last time, openly, widely, and persistently support allegations of election fraud.

It is even possible that Republicans will collectively pressure Trump into conceding defeat.
